[attr="class","twotext"]Personality Runningwind is a bit of a complicated character to get to know. First. He has to let you get close enough to him in order to really impact his decisions, or his life. He keeps everything to himself, not really giving opinions he feels others wouldn't want; same for advice. He's a wise cat, he's learned a lot roaming between the forest, Two-leg place, and once-upon-a-time to 'beyond Barley's farm'. It definitely explains his Aquaphobia, and fear of deep waters, swimming in general.
Land sports are his favorite. Racing, fighting, hunting! He's brilliant at all of these things, he thinks - at least. But, having to grow up where he had to cheat others to get ahead, it makes him a little dishonest. That doesn't mean he isn't without truth - if that makes sense. He tells the truth, but if he can benefit from one side or the other, he'll go for it. A little white-lie has never really gotten anyone killed. So, how can he be compassionate, you wonder? Any cat can have compassion. He's only ever used his dishonesty for the good of others, and as previously mentioned, himself.
He's got a lot of growing to do still.
Other important parts of his personality may include: a touch of silliness, sarcasm, puns, and a thirst for dangerous situations.
Strengths Brilliant fighter, quick on his paws, compassionate
Weaknesses He favors his left, dishonest, Aquaphobia
Goals To just live his life!

[attr="class","threetext"]
Appearance Runningwind is a lanky tom, but you wouldn't know it from all the fur sticking out in all directions. No matter how often he grooms himself, it's always sticking out. His pelt a sandy color, with patches of russet and brown. His face has those traditional tabby markings, but that is the only thing that is tabby about his fur; his eyes are yellow. His front legs are shaded in deeper browns, and his front paws are white; but only his front paws.
History Runningwind has had a pretty typical life, for a loner that is. His mother was a loner named Sandy (for her sand colored pelt, of course), but the origins of his father remain a mystery to him. Unbeknownst to him, his father is a Clan cat. But Sandy loved, and respected her chosen mate enough to keep his identity a secret. Runningwind has no kin except his father in any of the clans, and even though he doesn't know the identity - one he hopes that one day, when the time is right, he will know. But, as unsurprising as it was, Runningwind and his sister Whitedeer care very little about their father. If he wasn't a part of their lives now, they wouldn't be part of his life. It doesn't stop Runningwind from wishing that he did know, nor Whitedeer, but se la vi.
As a kit, Runningwind's favorite palace to play with his sister was the park! Granted, there were dogs there, but their Person would always keep them contained. It was as a kit that Runningwind learned to do as much as any normal cat. His favorite cat to visit lived in a smelly, old garbage alley. Her name was Yell'ah.
Yell'ah, was a yellow colored tabby she-cat. Her eyes were just as yellow as her pelt, and although she was old, she had many wise things to teach Runningwind and Whitedeer. Sandy wasn't a huge fan of Yell'ah, her kits were supposed to be staying out of trouble, and although she herself had learned a couple of things from Yell'ah, she tried her best to keep her kits out of the influence. Tuh! That clearly didn't work out very well. Yell'ah taught the siblings how to hunt, where to hunt, and the best places to leap across the roofs of houses - while she stayed on the ground of course. She also taught them how to escape their opponent with just words - being a pacifist herself, this was something that Sandy appreciated.
More than anything, though, Sandy wished to instill compassion into her kits. So, when they were old enough, she would take them to visit cats who could not longer hunt, and do things for themselves. She tried to teach her children that it was better to understand a cats situation, rather than judge them. It was something that Runningwind and Whitedeer have since taken into consideration. Another important lesson that Yell'ah and Sandy taught the kits was it was never, under any circumstances, take dung from a bully.
Whitedeer learned this lesson especially. For a time, she never told anyone, but when it was found out that there was another cat - one Iris by name - was taking advantage of Whitedeer. One night, Runningwind heard his sister get up form her nest and leave the little alcove that was their home. He decided to follow her, making sure not to be seen. - - - to say the most, Whitedeer never trusted another cat so fully. Runningwind is the only cat who holds her full confidence. If anyone has an issue with trusting Runningwind - for most any reason - she backs him up.
After the incident the two became inseparable. If they were separated for anything more than hunting, Whitedeer would pitch a fit. Sandy decided to let it be. After all, there was no harm. It saddened her to see that her lovely daughter was keeping herself to the side of just one, with barely any friends to speak of. But, Runningwind, with his own personal confidence, began to branch out.
Runningwind forged his own path. But not without a little bit of cheating. For a time, he was the leader of a group of cats that ran the whole west side of Twoleg place. He won the leadership by tricking Rowan (the leader of the group) in a fight. The way it worked, however, was only one cat would witness the battle for leadership, and no matter what happened, if the current leader went down, the other would become leader (that sort of thing). Runningwind, tired of the way the group was being won, decided someone needed to take over, and that someone was him. Whitedeer was decidedly against his going up against Rowan, for fear of her brother's life, but Runningwind was determined that these cats deserved better leadership.
What it was that Runningwind did, exatcly, is only known to him and the cat who observed the fight. Rowan went down, and Runningwind became leader. He turned the group of cats into a sort of safe haven for those who needed it the most. If you think about it, he sort of became the modern-day robin hood for cats. Heh, funny, isn't it? He would rob those who were 'rich' and gave them to the poor. Only, by less honest means than Robin Hood.
Runningwind has the uncanny habit of always being lucky. Sometimes that luck turns sour, and only among those closest do they know that he is honest. To the rest of the world, he's as dishonest as they come. With a smirk on his face, and a snappy retort at the ready, he's ready for anything. That was, until someone came along and challenged him for the leadership of the group.
After Runningwind 'lost' the fight, he decided it was time to go and find something else to occupy his time. He is never very far from Whitedeer, and togethter they wandered about. One day, Runningwind suggested that they go for a trek beyond the forest territory behind Twoleg place. Whitedeer thought he was crazy! There were feral cats living in the forest, and they were very possessive of their territory. She advised that it would be a terrible idea to even think about trespassing on their territory.
Nevertheless, he did it anyway. It was the first time since they were kits that Whitedeer didn't follow her brother into the forest, weary of the scent markers, and always checking how fresh they were. It wasn't until he reached the moors that he realized his goal. To be the first cat (or, at any rate) to be the first cat brave enough to see what lay beyond. He passed through WindClan territory at night, to arrive at a farm. It was there that he spent the day resting and sleeping. And from there he wandered beyond.
No one knows what he found, and he doesn't speak of it, even when asked.
And, up to this point we pick up in the life of Runningwind and Whitedeer...
