[attr="class","mcham"]STEP TWO
[attr="class","twotext"]Personality:: Birchstar is able to keep his personal and professional business in two very separate categories, though sometimes he slips and they get a little mixed. He's completely selfless, a mindset where everyone is before him, his paws move for his clan and the clan's safety alone. He would never want anything to happen to the ones he loves, making him very protective and hostile to those who pose a threat to the well being of others. He's humane, knowing all life has a meaning and nothing should be wasted. He will never lose the chance to voice his opinion, even if it's against what all the other cats are thinking. He's not a follower, he will do his own thing, stand away from the majority who mindlessly follow.
He wants to be as helpful as he can, and it makes him work to exhaustion. Staying up nights at a time to train until his paws just stop and force him to stop. It's unhealthy but he just can't imagine him messing up and someone's life coming from it. He has a constant feeling that he is and never will be enough. The past haunts him and he tries to think logically about things that happen but he can't forgive himself, he's the only cat he will never forgive. Cats might call him soft as he tries to avoid controntations as much as he can, and would rather use words than claws.
Strengths:: Loyalty, Honesty, Empathy, Forgiveness
Weaknesses:: His Past, Emotionalness, Feeling of never being 'enough'.
Goals:: To protect and provide for Thunderclan to his last breath.

[attr="class","vanice"]STEP THREE
[attr="class","threetext"]
Appearance::
An ashy brown tabby tom with bright green colored eyes, with white tipped paws and a white underside. He's an average height with a lean and sturdy build.
His time in Riverclan ended when he slipped on the bank of the river and fell in. He struggled and tried to claw his way back to shore but he just wasn't strong enough yet. His mother, Rippleshine jumped in after him and threw him to the bank before disappearing under the water for a long time. She ended back at the bank before dying in front of the two apprentice. Birchpaw was petrified as he looked down at the lifeless body, it was his fault. Oakpaw told him to leave, to just run away. Without thinking that's what Birchpaw did, running away from what he had caused by slipping into the river. The apprentice hid in the territory for a while before he gained the confidence to go across the river, he knew he couldn't live alone, and he thought the clan would think he was a murderer. So, by a miracle, Birchpaw swam, more like flopped and half drowned, to Thunderclan. A patrol found him coughing up a good bit of water and took him to their camp.
Being accepted into Thunderclan was much easier than he expected, but it came at a cost of losing his identity from his past life. He was no longer allowed to be known as Birchpaw from Riverclan, he told the lie that he was Birch, a loner whose mother drowned in Riverclan territory before being run out. Thankfully the leader accepted him into the clan and gave him his original name back, Birchpaw. The cats around him he found to be accepting of him, well most of them, as a few still looked at him with a glare of detest. His mentor was a wonderful tom who accepted him even if he wasn't a Thunderclan born cat and treated him just the same as every cat before him. He was an older cat who was inching closer to becoming an elder as he walked in a constant limp that slowly started to cause him a great deal of pain. The two cats became incredibly close as Birchpaw learned how to take things slower with his limping mentor. Many cats teased him for having the 'defective' mentor, but he couldn't ask for a more thoughtful and kind cat to teach him how to truly be a Thunderclan warrior. Through the many moons of development and growth, Birchpaw showed a side not many expected from him. He went from a nervous cat to one who showed promise of what he could do in the future.
He worked non-stop to do what he had to do for the clan. He took Thunderclan as his new home, and the cats in this clan were his new family, and he'd do anything to protect them. He wouldn't fail another family member, not ever again. The fueled him and pushed him to train by himself, hunt, climb, until is body screamed for rest. He overcame his fears and many obstacles thrown in front of him as an attempt to prove himself to all the cats in Thunderclan that he was one of them and not some random loner. Sadly by the final moon of his training, his mentor had passed away due to a sickness, leaving Birchpaw broken and devastated as his friend had left to join starclan.
When his mentor died the current leader, [I'll look up who that is], took him as their mentor. He was beyond honored that the leader would take the time to teach him for the final moon of his apprenticeship. It was a great privilege and he wouldn't mess it all up. While his past mentor was good at teaching, there were some topics the other wasn't perfect at, such as fighting. Birchpaw at that time wasn't the best fighter, he had strength, power, and will to protect... but lacked what to do. What they focused on most was defensive moves, there was no reason to kill when it could be talked out, though he was still shown attacks as sometimes you need to dig your claws in to get a point across. A main lesson he was taught was that all life was precious and should never be wasted.
In the end, he became a warrior. One that wasn't questioned on his loyalty, one who was looked at by all the cats, mostly, as one of them. He was a Thunderclan warrior. He was given the name Birchheart for his love and loyalty to the clan.
After becoming a warrior he always remained close to the leader. As moons went on they would share secrets and confine with one another when they were feeling down. He also managed to make new friends during this time, no longer being alone and the odd outcast, he was welcomed by friends and groups to participate in clan activities. He was always the first up for a patrol, the most wide-eyed and bushy tailed for the hunts. He liked to always be doing things whenever he could, he couldn't just sit around and stare at the sky all of his life.
Everything seemed normal to him. He was becoming a better version of himself, he was surrounded by friends and a home. He didn't expect it to happen, for the deputy to die and his name be called by one of his closest friends. He was called to be the deputy of Thunderclan. Silence fell as everyone expected it to be anyone else but Birchheart, but it was his name and welcoming gaze that was looking straight at him. He didn't expect this to happen, who would?
Through the moons, he learned how to have a bit of a thicker skin. He took the named, the glares, the rude jesters from cats and tucked them away. Ravenstar helped him through the backlash of his truth-telling, and lead him through the right path, to show him what he was supposed to be. He went to meetings but stayed quiet, he knew who Oakstorm was, but he assumed Oakstorm didn't know who he was. They ignored each other, or well, Birchheart ignored him.
There isn't much else to say about his time as deputy, he matured and grew stronger, he felt like he had a reason for living. He also started working harder, doing his best to provide for the clan, he always seemed busy. Many joked he might just work himself to death someday, and Birchheart would be fine with that kind of death.

History::
[Kittenhood]
Birchkit was born to a she-cat named Rippleshine and an unknown tomcat. He had a brother, Oakkit, and the two were pretty close. Their kittenhood was as normal as it could get, they had a beautiful mother who loved and cared for them, and a home with plenty of food and protection. [Apprenticeship in Riverclan]
Birchpaw was thrilled to be an apprentice alongside his brother Oakpaw. The two were as close as cats could get at this stage in their lives. They always wanted to train together to see who would be the fastest, who could catch more prey. It was a beautiful and fun time for the young toms, and they seemed conjoined at the hips. There really wasn't a dull moment with the two apprentices around.His time in Riverclan ended when he slipped on the bank of the river and fell in. He struggled and tried to claw his way back to shore but he just wasn't strong enough yet. [Deputy Life]
The first thing Birchheart did as deputy of Thunderclan was come clean to everyone. Ravenstar believed to be a good deputy he had to be completely honest with the clan and hide no unnecessary secrets. They might hate him for a short time, but respect would grow from sharing it so openly. On the rock stood Birchheart, staring down at all the watchful eyes, some worried, some interested. He explained he was from Riverclan, the brother of the current deputy, Oakstorm. That he left Riverclan with guilt on his shoulders after his mother drowned trying to save him. Gasps and furious voices filled the camp as he continued, Oakstorm had told him to run, and he had listened. Many shouted questions left and right until he finally answered them all. Nobody was happy with him, but not everyone hated him. He lied, but he has shown no disloyalty to their clan, he had proven he was one of them. He promised that there would be no more secrets, and being deputy was why he felt he had to tell everyone about what he had done before he could truly accept the title.Through the moons, he learned how to have a bit of a thicker skin. He took the named, the glares, the rude jesters from cats and tucked them away. Ravenstar helped him through the backlash of his truth-telling, and lead him through the right path, to show him what he was supposed to be. [Leader Life]
It's only Birchstar's first moon as leader of Thunderclan. He is still mourning the loss of his beloved friend and Leader, [Name]. Soon he will have to confront his brother, Oakstar of Riverclan. He can no longer hide in the shadows of his past leader. He is dreading the next meeting, knowing it might not all end that well.[newclass=.onetext]margin-top:-8px;margin-bottom:-102px;width:385px;height:75px;padding:10px;background-color:#fff;border:solid 1px #939393;color:#262626;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;margin-right:5px;font:13px calibri;[/newclass]
