FALLENFLIGHT
is a member of
shadowclanplayed by: crimson ♦
basics
Breed - tabby
Eyes - olive
Place of Birth - shadowclan
Gender - female
Age - 39 moons
Status - leader
If Apprentice: Mentor, not optional
Appearance - Fallenflight is a fair sized she-cat; she is well built and can be quite intimidating. She has long legs and has a long tail. Her coat is a pretty brown with tabby markings, having only white on her muzzle and chest. Her fur is short and fine, so you can easily see her muscles through her coat. Her eyes are a beautiful shade of olive that shimmer brightly even on the darkest of nights.
She would be a vision of beauty, if it weren't for her battle scars. The cons of living in ShadowClan is the amount of rats that are found, and the constant battle with them for food. She has many scars all over her, although most have faded over the years only to be seen on closer inspection, except for one that runs across her neck to her front left leg and one on her right back leg. She is also missing her front dewclaws, as they got ripped off at an early age.

personality
Calm, cool, and collective are three words to easily describe this cat. As her father had taught her, don't let fear, anger, or emotions control your decisions in life. She does not act out on impulse, rather she would think about it and hear both the pros and cons of an idea. She has an astonishing amount of patience, and would always rather talk than fight, but sometimes that isn't an option, which many fail to understand at the best of times. She does not hold a grudge, no matter what they had done. "Forgive but never forget" as they say. She refuses to let things bother her, and it saves her a lot of stress and heartache by doing so. The only time she lets anything bother her, is when they threaten her home, her family, and her clanmates. The major things, that can't be ignored and they'll go away type deal. She is very thoughtful and nice; she'll gladly do warrior duties with her fellow clanmates and do anything she can to help the clan. She can take a joke, and is actually quite sassy.
However, she isn't always this relaxed. Because she holds back her emotions all the time, there are times where she just snaps, or becomes a relentless monster in the battlefield, blinded by her anger and pain. She trusts very few cats with her life, and rule she had to learn the hard way. Even cats within her own clan, there's maybe less than a pawful she will be 100% open with. It's easier for both her and everyone else, to be unpredictable and to be not figured out so easily. I mean, if you know a cat will get mad at the little things or they know exactly what bothers them, they will do it every time to get on your nerves, or at least that's how she thinks. Not saying she won't give them heck when they are being real... jerks about it, she'll set you straight no problem.
This is where it gets a bit complicated with Fallenflight. She comes off as a cat who may seem like they give no fudges, but at the same time she does care. Other clans may think that she thinks as herself as high society and can't be bothered, but in reality she is devote to her clan.

history
Prelogue: Born into the Clan
Fallenflight is the only daughter of Nightstreak and Redclaw, the youngest of the kits. She has two older brothers, Blizzardkit and Adderkit. They grew up like any other family, getting into mischief and causing all kinds of heck for their parents. One notable memory is when they were playing hide-and-seek, and Adderkit had hid in the fresh-kill pile, and a warrior had come and picked him up; he dropped him almost instantly and let out a faint yip. "What in the name of StarClan are you doing, Adderkit!?" Fallenkit and Blizzardkit saw the whole thing, and started just dying in laughter. "You almost ate him, Foxleap!" said Fallenkit through laughter. Ah, gone are the days. She still bugs him about it.
Apprenticeship: The First Gathering
She was giving the mentor Ashclaw, a somewhat of an ambitious cat but was one of the most loyal warriors you could ask for. They made quite a team; he taught her everything he knew. So when battles picked up against rats or even other clans, they worked almost in unison, like a dance almost. She was recognized for her quick learning and determination.
She went to her first gathering not even a moon later with her brothers, and she was so excited she could barely maintain her cool. She followed excitedly next to Ashclaw, who was explaining the purpose of gatherings to her. "Now remember, Fallenpaw... You can have friends in other clans, but your loyalty is to your clan and your clan alone. Remember that in battle." She was unsure of it at the time, but she nodded her head obediently. When they got to the edge of the clearing, the leader performed his ritual of stopping the group briefly, before running full tilt into the clearing.
As Fallenpaw entered the clearing, there were cats already there. Just one clan, though. "That's RiverClan. They are the only clan to willingly go in water, and they eat fish." said Ashclaw. "Come." he then walked cooly over to a large, jet black tom with stunning amber eyes. Fallenpaw was almost breathless for words; she had never seen such a magnificent looking cat. "Nightblaze," Ashclaw dipped his head. "Fallenpaw, this is a warrior from RiverClan. His name is Nightblaze." Fallenpaw stood there half stunned, before she snapped back to reality and dipped her head. "Wow, you're huge!" she exclaimed. Nightblaze put on a smirk, stood up and started to pace around her, checking out the new apprentice. Fallenpaw looked at Ashclaw nervously, but he had a hard stare at Nightblaze. "You're right to be wary, young one." murmured Nightblaze.
Fallenpaw looked back at him, and stood up straight. Nightblaze came to a halt back in front of them, and stared at Fallenpaw as he spoke: "She'll make a fine warrior. Even though she's still six moons, she stands with lots of confidence..." Ashclaw nodded his head. "Yes, I have high hopes for her." Fallenpaw couldn't hide the smile, she loved the praise. Nightblaze's tail twitched, and looked at Ashclaw. "I look forward to seeing her potential." and with that, he rose from his spot and padded over towards his clanmates. Fallenpaw looked at her mentor. "What's that supposed to mean, Ashclaw?" Ashclaw looked at her, but never answered.
The rest of the gathering went pretty smooth, ThunderClan showed up then WindClan, and the leaders stood proudly on the Great Rock. ShadowClan leader announced Fallenpaw, Blizzardpaw, and Adderpaw at the gathering, and then the rest of the clans shared their news. It was an amazing experience to say the least! She was still somewhat haunted by what Nightblaze said..
Apprenticeship: Scars add Personality
When she was 12 moons old, she got her first really notable scar; the one that runs down her neck all the way down to her front left leg. The were patrolling the carrionplace for easy food and to see if there were any trespassers, when they unfortunately came upon four large rats. Her, along with Ashclaw and two other warriors, had to defend the clan. They were doing well, and had chased them off. But in the heat of victory, and fifth rat launched itself at Fallenpaw, and ripped open a huge gash. Ashclaw killed the rat, then carried her all the way back to camp.
Her parents were in shock, and half the clan gathered outside the medicine cat den wondering if Fallenpaw would be okay. She had lost a lot of blood, but after a long night she pulled through and lived to tell another story. Her parents had volunteered for night watch, so that they could watch over their daughter and also because they couldn't sleep.
She didn't become a warrior with her two brothers, as her injury set her back a couple moons for training. Her brothers had earned the names Adderstrike and Blizzardfrost respectfully, and were loving the freedom that warriorlife came with. Adderstrike would occasionally take her out, and that's when Blizzardfrost started to drift away from them. Adderstrike rolled his eyes and actually got into a few scrapes with him, and at one point the had both drawn blood. Something you should know about them two, Adderstrike had the upperpaw, as he was both stronger, faster, and smarter than his brother.
Fallenpaw remembers that day well; the leader had even talked to her about it to find out why they weren't getting along. Fallenpaw at the time had no idea, so she said just that. After being excused, she went to the medicine cat den and saw Blizzardfrost in there, bleeding from the shoulder and face while Adderstrike's ear was bleeding. "Blizzardfrost.." she couldn't even stifle anymore words. Blizzardfrost simply put his head down and gave her a cold shoulder. She looked to Adderstrike for assistance, but he just shook his head slightly. She took that as the hint to leave.
Warriorhood: The Fall of Blizzardfrost
The next moon, she became a warrior, earning the name of Fallenflight. Adderstrike yowled the loudest, whilst Blizzardfrost hung at the back. When the ceremony was over, she glanced at him for him to only look away and trot out of camp. Adderstrike eyes flashed with anger, and he took off after him. Fallenflight sat her vigil, and it wasn't until close to dawn that Adderstrike and Blizzardfrost returned; both looking pissed off. Dawn came, and she went to sleep in her den. She woke up about sunhigh because there was a loud commotion going on. She slipped out of her den, and pushed her way through the crowd. The leader then spoke, and he dispatched a patrol to the carrionplace. Adderstrike, Ashclaw, and a few other warriors. That's a big patrol.. she thought to herself. She started looking for Blizzardfrost. She couldn't find him. She ran and stopped her former mentor. "Ashclaw, what's going on? Where's Blizzardfrost??" he explained that there was trouble in the carrionplace, and that Blizzardfrost was already there.
No... "I'm coming with you!" and she leaped ahead before he could say anything. Adderstrike cut her off. "You aren't ready, Fallenflight. This will be worse than last time." he eyed her heinous scar. Fallenflight shook her head. "I'm going. You'd do the same for me." and shouldered past him, and made for a full tilt. When she arrived, Blizzardfrost wasn't there. There wasn't anyone here that she could see. She could smell blood though, and the scent of strangers. It wasn't a clan smell that she recognized.
Suddenly she was overpowered by that scent, and four cats approached her. Rogues.. "Where's Blizzardfrost!" she demanded. They said no words, except for a female who tilted her head. "Don't you worry dear. You'll see him soon..." and then launched at Fallenflight. Her and that rogue locked into a ball and yowls and battle cries echoed throughout the carrionplace. Just like on cue, Adderstrike and the patrol barreled over a heap of garbage and slammed into the rogues.
Fallenflight managed to bat off the female who attacked her, and chased her off the territory. When she returned, there was one dead rogue and the others had fled. Ashclaw had the most blood on him, but he had the least amount of injuries. Adderstrike approached her, his eyes were dull. He rested his head on her shoulder, and Fallenflight was confused. She looked to Ashclaw, who pointed his nose to the far side of the small clearing by a pile of rubbish where a body resided. Her heart sank, and she ran over to the body. It was Blizzardfrost. She collapsed beside him, and that's all she remembers.
She woke up to being prodded by Adderstrike. "We are moving the body now." she looked around. She was in her nest. She nodded to Adderstrike and followed him. Her, Adderstrike, and the elders moved the body and buried it. Why... why did this have to happen..
Warriorhood: We Meet Again
It had been moons since Blizzardfrost's death, and the clan has been doing well. Fallenflight has received an apprentice, Darkpaw, who has been learning and doing quite well. Adderstrike also has an apprentice, Breezepaw. Fallenflight and Darkpaw were patrolling the borders when the neared the Fourtrees. Fallenflight explained the gatherings, and that next gathering he will be going there. Darkpaw was happy, and asked if they could check it out now. Fallenflight thought for a bit. Surely nothing bad could happen? It was mutual territory after all. She nodded, "but we got to be quick" she scoped out the clearing before giving Darkpaw the okay. Fallenflight, using her tail as a pointer, pointed out the direction of each clan's territory. Darkpaw was amazed. "Can we see their territories!?" and before she could say anything, and voice spoke up from the RiverClan territory.
"If you have a date with disaster, then yes."
Fallenflight's fur stood on end, and she laid her ears flat against her head. "Show yourself!" she hissed. Out stepped a large, jet black tom, and upon eye contact, she recognized those dazzling amber eyes anywhere. "Nightblaze..." she held her ground, but she was sure her eyes gave away the somewhat relief that it was only him. He simply smiled, and Darkpaw ran and hid somewhat behind Fallenflight. Nightblaze smirked. "Shouldn't be out here all alone. It's dangerous, you know."
Fallenflight blinked. "Then we should be going. Come, Darkpaw.. Let's go home." Nightblaze said nothing but had a smirk on his face. Fallenflight looked back at him one last time before disappearing back into ShadowClan territory.
Later that night, she pondered why Nightblaze hadn't engaged in battle, or anything really. Maybe he was hiding something? I should go check it out.. Fallenflight rose from her nest, and carefully stepped out of the den. She remembered a place where she could sneak out of that her and Adderstrike had found when they were kits, and she used that to sneak out without having to go past the guards. She ran to the Fourtrees, and scoped out the area. It seemed empty, and the scents were stale.. Or maybe not. She tasted the air and picked up on Nightblaze's scent. He's still here? Why? she stalked towards the RiverClan side of the Fourtrees, and the smell got so strong it was almost unbearable.
"I hope you don't think you're being sneaky, ShadowClanner." startled she jumped back.
"N-no! What are you doing here, Nightblaze?" said Fallenflight. Stepping out from the shadows once again, they were only a mouse length apart from each other. "I could ask you the same thing." There was pause, and Fallenflight back up. she questioned him, and turns out he just likes the Fourtrees. "It's a rather calm and soothing place." he said. "There's something about this place.. maybe how the trees shimmering down the light in such a way that it magnifies the beauty in such a calm and peaceful aspect." Fallenflight looked at him, and he was already looking at her. She looked away. "I'm going to go. See you later, Nightblaze." and she took off back to ShadowClan. She had never known another cat- even in her own clan- to talk like that. It was something nice, but anyone will say anything to get what they want.
She met with Nightblaze a few more times, but then stopped when she got caught trying to leave. So, she backed off that for a long time, only talking with him at gatherings and such. They became good friends, the only one who rivaled the friendship was her relationship with Adderstrike. Strange, isn't it? She really only stopped talking to Nightblaze when she became the deputy of ShadowClan, as she got her loyalties questioned by her clan. She was pissed off that her clan had turned on her so fast- she didn't question their loyalties. The only one who didn't accuse her is her leader and brother. The only two cats she could and would trust unconditionally.
Now don't get me wrong, she still acknowledged Nightblaze and he did the same, and the best part about it? He didn't make a scene, or even get mad at her. He simply nodded his head, as if he understood it all.
Moons passed, and the leader of ShadowClan finally hit the end of his nine lives. Fallenflight got appointed to leader, and she happily received her nine lives...

roleplay sample
Dusk in ShadowClan was by no means a silent affair. As soon as the sun slid below the horizon the bush came to life: a symphony played by the crickets and cicadas, the far-off calls of wild dogs, and the snorts and splashes of the small animals echo calmly through the night.
A she-cat stalks quietly through the marshland that covers and surrounds the ShadowClan territory. Bright olive eyes outlined in black; a tabby pelt with black stripes covering her muscular body. Big paws make not even the slightest of sound as she weaves careful around sticks and twigs. Sharp, pointed teeth that can easily end a life in a single grueling bite; claws that can shred even through the thickest of hides. A true beaut for sure.
She walks with caution but with slight confidence; she sees them but they don't see her. Animals lapping up by the river, no care in the world during their thirty second drink. Not even aware of the danger that surrounds them, or the fact that their life could be easily ended. But this was not a hunting trip for her, not tonight. As she heads towards the Burnt Sycamore, arguably the only tree in the whole territory, she couldn't help but be mesmerized by how the moonlight makes this tree almost glow. Her eyes faded a bit, remembering of what a friend said long ago.
She approached the tree and soon bounded up it until she stood proudly on the branch. She could see even RiverClan territory from here! From what the moon showed, the clans were all asleep. The only movement is the river that winds, and the dull sound of water crashing at the gorge was all you could here from the other clans. It was beautiful; there's no way to describe it. Night time does wonders to the mind, funny how a bit of darkness can make you appreciate so much more.
