personality
He is impartial, meaning that most, if not all, of his decisions are based on fact and events instead of opinion and bias. This is a good leadership trait, as he tends not to let his emotions rule his decision making. He does his best to consult with his deputy and medicine cat, who he believes are among the most trusted in the clan. In times he does not know what to do, he will seek out help from the elders, to see if this has happened once before, and if all else fails, he will journey to the moonstone and ask StarClan for guidance.
He is also discreet about most subjects, showing just enough emotion to show understanding, but no more than that. He words himself carefully in attempts to not cause chaos or accidentally offend someone in the process. That being said, he is quite respectful of what other's think, and will let anyone say what they have to say regardless if he agrees or not.
When it comes to emotions he is very placid, meaning not easily excited or impressed. It takes a lot to show he is angry, happy, upset, excited, whatever! But when it gets to those points, you know it is something serious... Not to say he doesn't praise, he will recognize those who earn praise and give it to them as needed. This also makes him come off as cold and uncaring sometimes however.
His warrior name was Viperstrike, and was named that because he was exceptional in the battlefield and very meticulous. He was usually very precise with his attacks and hunting, and he loved to learn. It was the one thing he showed any, er, talent in, and his swift learning showed promise. However, he was also impulsive. He'd take on anything that dared to threaten him or his clan without hesitation. He does not back down from a challenge, but can usually talk his way out of a quarrel if it's with a rival clan.

history
Born to Duskfall and Sunsetstream, Viperstar had only one other sibling: Falconsong. When they were young, Viperkit and Falconkit would often try to leave camp, but Sunsetstream would always stop them. One day, Viperkit and Falconkit managed to sneak away from their protective mother, and in the process both him and Falconkit nearly got picked off by a hawk. Since that day, they were in quarantine until they were made apprentices a moon later.
When they were apprentices, Viperpaw was mentored by a cat named Gorsefur, a burly tom who was an excellent fighter but not not the sharpest mind in the camp. Viperpaw learned most of the cats fighting skills before Gorsefur decided to retire when Viperpaw was 9 moons old. He received a new mentor, Hazelfur; a she-cat with a temper and little patience. At first, her and Viperpaw didn't get along, or so it seemed. She always pushed him to the point of exhaustion, always saying "again" even after he'd just done it 50 times. Everyday he'd wake up stiff and sore, drained of energy but he always aimed to please even though she seemed impossible to please.
During a "hide-and-seek" exercise, Viperpaw's goal was to successfully hunt and capture Hazelfur without being detected. He must've done this exercise a thousand times, but he was never able to catch her undetected. She'd always say that she heard or smelled him, or some other thing. Quite frankly, it was getting on Viperpaw's nerves. It helped his drive though, and this time he managed to pinpoint her and even pounce on her and scare the StarClan out of her! He almost got a face of claws, but it was so worth it. She couldn't even deny that he had finally passed her ridiculous test.
Her final test before he would become a warrior(other than the final hunting assessment) was a battle test; the first one to pin the other wins. Hazelfur didn't do much battle training with him, as his other skills needed more improvement. All Viperpaw had to do was pin her. While keeping his unusually long claws sheathed. "Don't you hold back either. Because I'm not." Viperpaw couldn't hold back the smile that spread across his face. Viperpaw was the one to initiate the fight, taking a short dart forward and swatting at her to see how she'd move. She dodged to the side and went to knock him over, but Viperpaw moved too quick and jumped on her, turning it into an insane ride of rolling. Hazelfur managed to shake him off and whipped around on him, going to pin him. Viperpaw kicked her in the belly with his back feet, then grabbed her and flipped her over. They were soon on their back feet, hugging each other trying to throw the other one down, and Viperpaw managed to swat her hard in the face, dazing her for a second. Taking opportunity, he rammed her, taking the wind out of her and pinned her, one paw on throat and the other on her belly.
He got off her and she panted heavily. He stood strong and stared at her, his gaze hard and fierce. She rose and turned and faced him, and for the first time, Viperpaw saw respect in her eyes. "You have done well, Viperpaw. You are ready." Viperpaw beamed inside, but he dipped his head and thanked his mentor. That was the first time she had ever praised him. Oh, how it felt good.
When made a warrior, Viperstrike became somewhat more impulsive, although his sister, Falconsong, often was his reasoning not to do whatever he wanted to do. He had a few scrapes with both ThunderClan and RiverClan. Whenever there was threat to the clan, he was first to fight; his impulse to go for it often got him in trouble. When he became deputy, his impulse started to die down, which was probably for the best. At this point, he had trained a pawful of warriors, and had showed great potential to become deputy. He was only deputy for a mere 9 moons before the leaders passing, and was granted leadership from StarClan.

roleplay sample
As the sun christened the land once again, Viperstar emerged from his den. The clan was already prompt with life; warriors had already left for dawn patrol and hunting parties were getting started. Apprentices hobbled tiredly out of their den, and even some kits were already wide awake, ready to play. Oh how he loved the clan life. No, how he loved WindClan life. The way the sun reflected off against the morning dew and the stream made for a magnificent morning. A true vision of beauty.
Leaving his den, he crossed the small stream that surrounded the camp before darting off towards the gorge to hunt. Even though he was leader, he couldn't stand to stay in camp all day. He loved contributing to the clan as much as possible, regardless of the ranking. Plus, early morning fishing was the absolute best. He paced up to the gorge; the scent of dawn patrol fresh. This made Viperstar proud, he liked that his warriors were always on point. Within moments the tom saw a light brown figure, and wasted no time stalking it before burtsing off into a dash. He killed it swiftly and efficiently. Nice. he thought. He decided to hunt for one more rabbit, and like before in moments noticed another. He stalked the brown fluff, and was two fox lengths away before he made a mad dash after it before slaying it. Satisfied, he picked them up both by the ears and headed back to camp.
