Reason For Name:: The tom received his prefix "Oak" because of his brown tabby pelt. While it may be an uncommon prefix for RiverClan, his mother really liked the prefix. He was given the suffix "-storm" because of his intense nature.

Description:: While only just above average when it comes to size, most still describe Oakstar as large. Maybe it's his personality that aids the idea that the tom is bigger than he really is. A handsome tabby patterning covers his light brown pelt, splotches of red appearing on his back and sides. Bright green eyes are always lit with a cold fire.
Breed:: American Shorthair
He's intense. The tom takes everything very seriously, even if it shouldn't be. Some may criticize his lack of warmth, but when troubling times come, he won't be the one running around screaming. He has everything in control and it's hard for him to tolerate those that are somewhat rebellious.
He does, however, have everyone's interests at heart. He truly is a good leader, he just shows his love for his Clan differently than others. There's no doubt he's strong in his position, but whatever he decides, he does it for RiverClan without a second thought.
The tabby is very smart. He's developed a skill of analyzing a problem and attacking it from all angles in order to receive the best outcome. StarClan know the skill will only grow as he ages.
As stated prior, the tom is cold. It's hard for him to show emotions and/or receive them. Emotions are messy, so he tries his best to stay away from them. It really takes someone special to crack open his heart.
Finally, Oakstar seems to be married to his work. He doesn't have any family left in his Clan, and a leader doesn't necessarily have friends. So, there's nothing else to really pay attention to other than his job.

Oakpaw was extremely happy to become an apprentice with Birchpaw. Shelltail, an experienced she-cat, became his mentor. From then on, he constantly competed with his brother (in a friendly way) over anything and everything, finding himself to be skilled in fighting and swimming. To say the least, Oakpaw was simply excited about life. That is until Birchpaw and Oakpaw were hunting and the brother fell into the river. Rippleshine, their mother, was hunting with them, and she immediately went to save her son. She threw Birchpaw back onto the shore before disappearing into the blue rapids. The toms tried to find her, eventually seeing her on the bank before dying front of them.
Oakpaw was beyond angry and sad. In a cold voice, he told his brother to run. In his mind, he was telling Birchpaw to run so the Clan wouldn't blame him for Rippleshine's death. With a heavy heart, the tom went back to RiverClan and told everyone Birchpaw and Rippleshine died.
The grief and guilt of not being able to keep his family together hit the tom hard. He isolated himself, focusing only on training. Shelltail was able to squeeze her way into his heart, providing the tom with a friend. And luckily Oakpaw made a few friends, ones who made him better, but it didn't happen for a long time.
Oakpaw became Oakstorm, now known as a warrior of RiverClan with a heart of steel. Continuing to focus on Clan life, the handsome tom became quite the warrior. Muscular and prepared to help his Clan in anyway, the leader showed an interest in him, and so did his Clanmates. They liked the idea of a strong cat who was willing to do anything for their Clan without emotions getting in the way.
Oakstorm, when the opportunity presented itself, easily snagged the next position of deputy. While never saying "I love you" out loud, his actions showed how much he cared for RiverClan. When his close friend and leader died seven moons into his position as deputy, Oakstorm became Oakstar, prepared to lead his Clan with a flourish.
