[attr="class","twotext"]Personality [ fearless || short-temper || disciplined || ambitious || loyal ]
Yarrowclaw is a tom who most don’t know quite how to feel about. He has a few honorable traits that could put him in a positive light, such as his unbreakable loyalty. He is a tom who once his life is pledged to something, he will stick to it until the day he dies. A cause that has his heart, will always have at least one soul fighting for it, even if it begins to fall into the range of futile. To tie to this, he is a highly disciplined cat, holding great control over himself. Inwardly, he prides himself on this fact, holding it as something of a ‘memorial’ to his late mentor. He forces himself to do the most intolerable things, keeping his head high and his features stoic through most anything he may face.
Bouncing from that, he is a rather fearless cat, somehow managing to swallow his fear and trudging through whatever may face him. This trait has been present in him since he was a kit, barreling headfirst into anything regardless of what consequences it may have for him. He simply didn’t think. As he’s grown up though, he’s managed to keep that fearlessness, while adding a bit of a brain behind it, making it purposeful, and useful to his duties. Yarrowclaw is a highly ambitious cat. If he wants something, he gets it. He’s patient, but not conniving. He would not wrong another to place himself ahead and holds to the idea that good things come to those who wait and work hard while they do.
The tom has a short temper, with to-sharp claws to match it. In his age, he’s gotten more of a handle on his temper, but in his younger days, he was not opposed to launching himself at someone who irritated him. He’s matured much in that way, but his temper is still there. While it doesn’t take much to anger him, it’s often short-lived, unless one truly enrages him. Mostly though, this temper of his now manifests in a sharp tongue and looks that could burn if trained too long on one subject. It's become a rare thing for him to turn to violence because of his temper.
Strengths Strong, fearless, passionate, loyal to a T
Weaknesses Short-tempered, passionate, mildly antagonistic
Goals To serve his clan to his fullest.

Appearance Yarrowclaw is a relatively large tom. He’s not in the surprising range of sizes, but he’s certainly on the larger side of normal for toms. Despite his age, he still has the muscle and mobility of a younger warrior, his age truly only being shown in the whitening of the orange tabby markings around his muzzle. Otherwise, his age is shown on the scars that dot him, showing more battles than he would probably ever truly care to remember.
His coat is made up of white and orange tabby markings. Most of his underside is white, the orange resting over him like a cloak, the two merging onto his tail as if the orange were cloth wrapped around him in strips. His coat isn’t particularly soft, holding a roughness that could be described as ‘dry.’ It’s thick, giving him a small amount of size, simply from fur. His features are round, his head being an oval shape. His eyes set in his head, peering out at the world, shining with a golden amber hue.
He walks in an almost stiff manner, his gait being almost reminiscent of a ‘march.’ Surprisingly though, he manages to do this quietly. His scent is describable as pine-tar, mixed with that ‘post-rain’ smell.
History
Yarrowkit and his sister, Mapelkit, were born outside of the clan’s camp. Their mother, Robintail, had left to go for a walk. This wasn’t truly anything odd for her, although it had been against the Medicine cat’s wishes. She managed to carry them both back, with one in her jaws, and the other tucked between her chin and her chest. Even the short walk had been long and arduous, even more so after the exhaustion of giving birth. Through the entirety of their time in the nursery, neither of the kits knew their father. No tom stepped forward to claim them, and Robintail never told who the father was. This, of course, did not discourage speculation. Their kithood was normal, outside of their first few hours being outside of the camp.
Yarrowkit became Yarrowpaw. He was a boisterous, hyper tom, with a particularly volatile temper. His mentor, Cedarclaw, took him in wholeheartedly. The tom had previously been a hard - often described as mean - mentor. With Yarrowpaw that seemed to change, his own reasoning being that he saw much of himself in Yarrowpaw, although many assumed it was because that the kits had actually been his. Many pushed for this idea, as Yarrowpaw began looking more and more like Cedarclaw as he grew, and as similarities in their personalities began to become obvious. Rumors and assumptions aside, Yarrowpaw distinguished himself as a hot-head, but, proved that he had a particular fighting skill that set him apart from the other apprentices. Yarrowpaw worked, training hard in order to gain the approval of his mentor, who he had (as he would so often deny) taken on as the father figure in his life.
After gaining his name, Yarrowclaw kept training – and still does – to work towards bettering himself. Eventually, he gained some control over his temper and became a little less prone to simply fling himself at another because they’d made him angry.
In his fortieth moon, Yarrowclaw was hit with a tragedy. His mother fell ill, passing away after a particularly painful few days. While Yarrow had never been particularly close with his mother, the news of her death had been a rattling moment for him. It was more of a blow, he knew, to his sister, Mapeltail, who had had a rather close relationship with their mother. Yarrowclaw hasn’t ever really spoken about how his mother’s passing affected him, and at times this has gotten him called cold. But he had dropped everything and spent what time he could with her body before she was buried. Every so often, one can catch him sneaking out to visit the place where her body lay.
His deputyship has been a short-lived stent so far. Being chosen was admittedly a surprise to him, but he has been grateful none the less and has tried his hardest to be a cat that others are proud of. Regardless, the suddenness of it surprised him, after the previous leader stepped down. Now, his main goal is to be as much help as he can be to Ivystar. Only time will tell how well things will go, but he will certainly give the task his all.

birth, kit-hood;
